We looked at the settings in Katie Morag and used WOW! words to describe them:
- "Katie Morag's bedroom is a midden."
- "There are three fluffy cats in Katie Morag's bedroom."
- "Struay is surrounded by soft yellow sand and crashing blue waves."
- "The sky is white, yellow and pink."
In Maths we have been learning about Measure.
We used rulers to measure the length of different socks. Katie Morag needed our help to find a pair of socks she could wear with her new school shoes. Length is measured in centimetres.
We then weighed the socks to find out what stamp we needed to send them to Scotland. Weight is measured in grams.
To say thank you Katie Morag sent us some of Uncle Matthews magic potion. We used measuring jugs to measure the capacity of different containers and find one big enough to hold 30 cups of potion. Capacity is measured in millilitres.
In Topic we have started to make our socks. We used our designs to select the tools and materials we needed and used a running stitch to join the two pieces of material together. Miss Howells and Mrs Griffiths were really impressed by our sewing!
In Dance we have been creating a dance about the journey of a seed. We took turns to be the rain and explored movements to show the seed growing roots and a shoot.
This week's Learning Owl is Luca. He has been chosen for approaching all of his learning with a positive 'I can do it' attitude. Well done Luca! We hope you enjoy your weekend with Plop.
This week's Home Learning Challenge is to find out about the artist Stephen Wiltshire.
I enjoyed having Plop and he slept in my bed. Plop played Hexbugs with me, and football.
