This week in Maths we have been learning about halves and quarters.Halves are two equal parts and quarters are four equal parts. We cut pieces of fruit and vegetables into halves and quarters and shared them for our snack.
In English we wrote the story Katie Morag delivers the mail. We used our story plan to help us and made sure that we included all the events and characters from the beginning, middle and end of the story.
In Topic this week we have been geography detectives. We looked at pictures of different places in Redbourn and sorted them into natural and man-made. Man-made means it has been made by people rather than nature.
In gymnastics we learnt how to perform a star jump. You need to remember to bend your knees when taking off and landing and straighten your arms and legs when your in the air.
In Music we have started to learn the songs for our Year One performance. We can't wait to find out our parts and start rehearsing!
This weeks Learning Owl is Heidi. She has been chosen for using her independence skills in her English work. Well done Heidi, we hope you have a great weekend with Plop!
Next week is Book Week and our focus is poetry so this week for home learning we would like you to tell us about your favourite poem.
