Ready steady roll...

This week in gymnastics we have been learning how to roll.
We learnt how to do an egg roll and a pencil roll:
For a egg roll you have to hold your knees to your chest, tuck your head in  and roll sideways.
For a pencil roll you need to stretch your arms behind your head, point your toes and use your tummy muscles to roll sideways.

In English we have been reading The Katie Morag stories. Katie Morag is a little girl who lives on Isle of Struay. She lives in a post office with her Mum and Dad, Mr and Mrs McColl and her brother Liam. She also has two Grannies, one that lives on the island and one that lives on the mainland.

In Maths we have been learning to add and subtract one and two digit numbers. One digit numbers are numbers smaller than 10 and two digit numbers are numbers bigger than 10.
When you are subtracting you need to start with the biggest number!

In Topic this week we have been exploring different materials. We found out that things can be made out of paper, wood, stone, glass, rubber, materials and lots of other materials. We also found out that rubber is strong and opaque, glass is fragile and transparent and materials is soft and flexible.

This weeks Learning Owl is Deahn, he has been chosen for challenging himself in his learning and working well independently. Well done Deahn we hope you enjoy your weekend with Plop!

This weekend in the RSPB big bird watch. For your Home Learning challenge we would like you to spend an hour recording what birds come in and out of your garden. I wonder whether anyone will see a red kite?
