May Day Dancing 27.05.16

Yesterday we performed our May Day Dance at the Community Tea and today we performed it for our friends and family. We remembered all the steps and moved in time to the Music. Miss Howells was very proud of us! Thank you to everyone who came, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

This week in English we used the facts and information we had collected about Space to write our non-chronological reports. We thought of interesting headings that would catch the readers attention and summarised what the report would be about in our introductions. We then used sub-headings to organise our facts and some of us added captions and diagrams.

This week in Maths we have learning how to collect and record data. We asked our friends what their favourite thing about Bekonscot Model Village was and recorded their answers as a tally. We then used our tallies to create a pictogram or bar graph and labelled the most and least popular choices.

In Science we predicted what would happen in our plant investigation. We thought about how limited sun/ water and air might effect a broad bean seed and recorded our ideas as diagrams. Mrs Byrne was very impressed with our fantastic ideas and the lovely presentation of our work!

In Topic we thought about what music/ sound effect we could add to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We split the story into five parts and thought about what we would say and which sound effects we could add. We can't wait to practise our parts of the story after half term and record it on the IPads.

Plop has been very busy this half term so is having a well needed rest over the half term. He is very pleased with all of the children for working so hard and using the Learning Owl skills in their work and can't wait for his next adventure. Well done Beech Class!

This weeks home learning challenge is to research Christopher Columbus and record your findings as a poster of fact sheet.

Well done Beech Class on another Fantastic half term! Have a lovely break and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Tuesday 7th June.
