This week we went on our school trip to Bekonscot Model Village. We walked around and looked at all of the models before doing a quiz. We had to look very carefully at the different buildings to find the answers. Mrs Griffiths team completed the quiz first! Our favourite things were:
"The wall of death ride in the fairground. There was a bike going round and round in the inside."
"The coal mine. The coal was going along a conveyer belt and fell into a pit."
"The rugby pitch, the players were doing a scrum."
"Looking at the funfair. There were lots of different rides."
"Watching the man jumping through the ring of fire in the fairground area."
"I liked playing in the playground."
"I liked the football pitch. The score was 0-0."
"Looking at all of the different houses."
"Looking at the horse racing, the police man was chasing a man who had stolen a hand bag."
In Maths this week we have been learning how to multiply and divide. When you multiply you add the same number again: 2+2+2+2+2 = 10 5 x 2 = 10 and when you divide you share objects/ numbers into equal groups: 16 divided by 4 is 4.
In English we have been learning about Non-chronological report. These are reports that are not written in time order. We used books, fact sheets and the IPads to find out facts about Space and recorded our findings as facts. We then thought about what sub-headings we could use and used these to organise our facts.
In Gymnastics we explored different ways of stretching and curling our bodies. We had to remember to point our toes and engage our core muscles.
In Topic we looked at a map of the UK and used this to name the countries and capital cities. The countries are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the capital cities are London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
This weeks Learning Owl is Akeem. He has been chosen for approaching his learning with a positive 'I can do it' attitude and persevering with a problem. Well done Akeem, we hope you enjoy your weekend with Plop!
This weeks home learning challenge is to record 5 things that you do outside.
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing lots of our friends at the disco and fun run!
I liked going on the School trip.
